Demi-humans are actually (descendents of) humans that have been magically merged with animals, and have many traits of the animals they were merged with. Sometimes this was done as punishment, but often it was also done by request of the demi-human themselves.
Known demi-human races include cat-people, dog-people and bunny-people.
Cat-people
Cat-people are a subspecies of the demi-humans, also known as Nekojin. They have cat features, including ears, tails and eyes, and traits, such as improved smell, playfulness and sight. They share a lot of these traits with Tigrin, despite being a totally different race.
They typically are somewhat solitary, but despite pair-bonding being common, they are not monogamous per sé, and function quite well in small groups as well.
